Research Interests
-Adaptive reforestation stocks: assessment of vulnerabilities and adaptive capacities of local populations to climate change, primarily for use in forest management.
-Landscape-scale climatic analysis: development of landscape-level analyses for identifying climate refugia under future climate change, for conservation and management applications.
-Historical biogeography of North American trees: reconstructing the historic ranges of North American trees since the last glacial maximum ca. 21,000 years ago, primarily using species distribution models.
-Migration and gene flow rates: estimates of past and future migration rates among locally-adapted populations of present-day North American trees to assess the vulnerability of local populations to climate change based on the proximity of suitably-adapted genetic material to their projected future ranges.
